
After completing a B.A. in English Literature at the University of Western Ontario, Thomas obtained an LL.B. (JD) at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995. Called to the bar in 1997, he has two decades of relevant legal experience, focused primarily on insurance defence. Law firms out of which he previously worked include Benson Percival Brown LLP, Lawson McGrenere LLP and Smockum Zarnett Percival LLP.
Throughout his career, Thomas has gained a clear perspective on how business and insurer clients approach claims settlement. He has a pragmatic approach to dispute resolution born out of this experience. He is a passionate advocate who fights for the interests of defendants. He is familiar and comfortable appearing before various levels of the judiciary and tribunals, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the WSIB Appeals Tribunal.
He possesses excellent oral and written advocacy skills allowing him to consistently maintain a level of communication that is clear, concise and accessible.
